Former Texas State Senator Launches News Site

Former Texas State Senator Koni Burton joined The Chad Hasty Show on Thursday to discuss a new media company she launched this week. Burton is the Founder and CEO of The Texan, a news site focusing on the Texas Legislature and Texas politicians.

Burton said told KFYO that the goal of The Texan is to report on stories with a "center-right" world view but that does not push an agenda. Burton said that many conservatives are frustrated by other news organizations that cover Texas that are "center-left". Burton also told KFYO that the news site will be subscriber-based and not donor or ad-based.
