The Former Chief of Intelligence and Counterterrorism at Texas DPS is facing a serious allegation of rape.

According to the Texas Tribune, John Jones was arrested Tuesday (July 30) night by deputies of the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. They’re investigating the allegation from a woman who claims that Jones raped her when she was at his house on July 20th.

The woman claims that after the assault, she was able to get a ride home from a friend and later went to an emergency room and had a sexual assault forensic exam, which showed trauma to her genitals and bodily bruising.

John Jones was fired from his senior position at Texas DPS on Wednesday (July 31)  while he was still being held in jail. His original bond of $750,000 was reduced to $100,000 on the conditions that he surrender his passport, military identification, and wear a GPS monitor. Jones is also forbidden to go within 200 yards of his accuser.
