An altercation ended with a shooting and one person being injured back on Thursday, September 17th in Central Lubbock.

Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of 65th Street for shots fired.

KAMC News reports the victim was located on scene awake and alert after being shot in the leg. Police met with them at University Medical Center to learn more details about the shooting.

Police were told the victim was outside with his family when an unknown man arrived, looking to fight another man at the complex. The victim told the man he wouldn't give the identity of the man he wanted to fight.

It's then said the suspect began firing at the group of people.

The victim has said he doesn't know who the suspect was.
