On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Michael Quinn Sullivan, president of Empower Texans and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, talked with Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about the upcoming primary elections for the state of Texas.

Concerning the Congressional District 83 race between Randy Neugebauer and Chris Winn, Sullivan said Neugebauer was a good candidate, and that he didn't quite understand why Winn took issue with Neugebauer.

"Mr. Neugebauer has been a good member of the United States Congress. I think that if you want to take out a bad Republican, I'm not sure I would start with Randy Neugebauer."

Sullivan also talked about the Representative race between Delwin Jones and Charles Perry. He said that Jones was an affable guy and a good campaigner, but the incumbent Perry has done a good job as well, so he predicts the race will be closer than people think. Sullivan also gave his thoughts on the Senate race, saying that is would most likely come down to a run off between David Dewhurst and Ted Cruz. He also gave his opinions on the District 88 race and the Speaker race.
