For the second consecutive week, Josh Winegarner (pictured, above) continues to announce endorsements in his race for the Republican nomination for the Texas 13th Congressional District.

Monday morning, Texas Senator Charles Perry (R- Lubbock) announced his endorsement of Winegarner. Last week, Winegarner was endorsed by former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm and former Texas Tech Chancellor Bob Duncan.

“Josh Winegarner has spent his professional career working for the agricultural industry. He grew up and has always been a part of the agricultural epicenter of the country,” said Senator Perry. “He gets Ag! That is why I support Josh Winegarner.”

“I am a staunch conservative, and I understand how important the agricultural and energy products we produce are to the economy of our state and our country,” said Winegarner. “Senator Perry and I share these values and will work together to ensure that we continue to have strong representation in Austin and Washington.”

Josh Winegarner is running against Ronny Jackson in the Republican Primary runoff for Texas 13th Congressional District, which will be held in July. The current representative for Texas 13, Congressman Mac Thornberry, had previously announced he was retiring from Congress after his current term finishes.

“It is times like this where people begin to realize what is most important,” said Winegarner. “For me, it’s my Christian values, my family, my Panhandle upbringing and work ethic, and my love for America. I am eager to get to work on behalf of the people of the 13th District.”
