Ed Stringham Says Government Often The Cause Of Problems [INTERVIEW]

Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Ed Stringham and Benjamin Powell joined the broadcast from the KFYO studio to talk about their upcoming event, Private Governance: Creating Order in Economic and Social Life. Stringham is Davis Professor for Economic Organizations and Innovation at Trinity College, and Powell is the director of the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University.

The presentation will feature remarks by Stringham regarding the economy and markets, and the inherent tendency of politicians and governments to continually expand to justify their own purposes.

Stringham, talking about those tendencies of governments, said during the interview,

Politicians have a incentive to pander to people's fears, and they say, 'I am going to solve all of your problems', when in reality the government is often the cause of the problems.

The event is free, and takes place tonight (March 03, 2016) from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m at the Grand Auditorium in the Rawls College of Business Administration. A reception and refreshments will follow the presentation.
