District 83 Representative Charles Perry (R- Lubbock) spoke on today's edition of The Chad Hasty Show to discuss his campaign for the Special Election for Senate District 28 seat, as well as the issues which are uppermost in voter's minds. Perry is currently in the local area, and soon to be on the road again to cover each area in the district.

Perry said that the most important issue in the minds of constituents is water, which is of universal concern throughout the district, with the other major concern being the immigration issue.

Representative Perry is leading other candidates in fundraising for the election by a large margin. He said that he has strong support from areas throughout the state, and that he feels comfortable with where his campaign is financially.

"It's encouraging that people put their faith and trust in me and pay it with a checkbook, that's the ultimate reflection of someone that's decided that you're the guy that they need.", said Perry.

Perry also spoke about the effect that having more conservatives in the senate will have on state government.

Five other candidates are running in the Special Election for SD 28. They are: Delwin Jones, Jodey Arrington, E.M. Garza, Kerry Douglas McKennon and Greg Wortham.
