Dispute During Basketball Game Leads to One Being Shot in Lubbock
More details have been provided concerning a basketball game turned shooting that happened on Tuesday, January 11th.
KAMC News reports that the victims were playing basketball at Premier Sportsplex when one of the victims slapped on of his opponents on the court. The man who was slapped then called his brother and father to come get him.
The brother and father followed the victims as they left Premier Sportsplex and eventually stopped in the 3400 block of 86th Street. This was at around 1pm.
Police say that the suspects got out of their car and approached the other vehicle with a gun. This prompted what police are calling a gunfight, resulting in one suspect being his in his left arm and right ear. The victims then drove off.
Police clarified that since the ones who actually shot the other party had felt threatened, that they were listed as the victims and the other party were the suspects.
As of Friday, January 14th, no arrests had been confirmed in relation to this case. None of those involved have had their identities released, either.
