The Big 12's player of the year Jace Jung is now a consensus All-American. That's seven All-American nods for the Red Raiders Second Baseman. Four of the publications honored Jung with first-team recognition. Two gave him second-team awards and the seventh honor was a third-team. Jung also received a freshman All-American Honor from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The first-team honors came from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Perfect Game, the College Baseball Foundation and the NCBWA. The second-team honors from D1baseball and Baseball America, with the final honor coming from the ABCA.

With Jace Jung's seven All-American team appearances, that makes 11 for the Red Raiders this offseason. Jung is one of the most decorated players in the country. According to Texas Tech Athletics, Jung was named the Big 12 Player of the Year, NCBWA National Freshman Hitter of the Year, NCBWA District 7 Co-Player of the Year, and was a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy. Additionally, he was a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection, an NCBWA District 7 First Team pick, and an ABCA All-Region Team member.

The second-year freshman also led the Big 12 in home runs, RBI and slugging while hitting .337 and reaching base safely in all 48 regular-season games.

For Jung's efforts, he was named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team that will compete this July.

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team will feature 48 players split into two teams, the Stars and Stripes. Those two teams will go head-to-head in 11 contests starting on July 2nd. The July 4th contest will be streamed on USABASEBALL.com and the USA Baseball Facebook and Youtube Channels beginning at 12:30 pm on July 4th.

Jung is the first Red Raider to play for the USA Collegiate National Team since his brother Josh Jung in 2018. Steven Gingery was part of the team in 2017.
