City of Lubbock Offering Paid Summer Apprenticeships
Here's a great opportunity for High School aged people.
Summer is coming up soon and that means many young adults will be looking for jobs. The City of Lubbock announced this week that they are looking hire paid apprentices for the City of Lubbock's Field Services Summer Program.
Those who participate will shadow and with inspectors, project managers, and technicians from different City of Lubbock Departments including Codes, Parks and Recreation, Fleet, Public Works, and Facilities Management.
The Field Services Summer Program is designed for young adults aged 17-21. It's a great opportunity for young people to get real world experience in jobs connected to the City of Lubbock that they can use for future careers. It's a 7 week program that begins June 12 and ends on July 28. According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, the requirements are pretty straight forward.
The City of Lubbock Field Services Summer Program (FSSP) is designed to provide young adults, between the ages of 17-21, with summer employment that develops job skills and knowledge in a rewarding work environment. Participants will have an opportunity to explore public service careers through job assignments with City departments, gain valuable hands-on work experience and acquire employability skills necessary for success in future careers.
Requirements:
- Be 17-21 years of age at the start of the program
- Have a Social Security Card.
- Be currently enrolled in high school and/or a recent high school graduate.
