The Lubbock Police Department (LPD) is asking the public for help as they investigate a recent shooting in east Lubbock that left several people injured with gunshot wounds.

Cash Reward for Any Information

LPD is even offering a cash reward of $1,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest or conviction.

The incident took place on July 5 of this year at the 1300 block of East 17th Street when reports of shots fired were made. Officers arrived on the scene at 1:25 a.m. where they discovered multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

The shooter was never identified, and police are asking anyone in the community who may have information on the case to please come forward.

Second Shooting Incident on July 5

This is the second shooting investigation that took place on July 5, as LPD arrested a man believed to have shot and killed 27-year-old Joe Ybarra Jr.

The suspect in this case, 18-year-old Keymarion Burton, was arrested without incident on July 8.

It is believed that Ybarra and Burton were both at the same residence on North Ithaca Avenue before officers received a call of shots fired just after midnight. Burton allegedly shot Ybarra several times, causing him to be rushed to the hospital where he later died.
