Chad’s Morning Brief: No Challenger To Straus In The Texas House?
House Speaker Joe Straus will likely not face an opponent in the Speaker's race when the Texas Legislature meets on January 10th. While there still may be a small group of anti-Straus lawmakers, they know they don't have the votes and none are standing up to run.
This should surprise no one.
