Can An Apple A Day Really Keep The Doctor Away?
We've probably all heard the saying, "an apple a day, keeps the doctor away" but how true is that saying?
Brenda Garcia with United Supermarkets joined us today to talk about apples. It's Fall and that means apples are in season and ready to be eaten and there are so many to choose from. Garcia told the audience that while eating apples doesn't really mean you won't ever have to see a doctor, apples are good for you and can help keep you healthier which can maybe keep you from seeing the doctor more than you should.
Garcia told our audience that apples are low in calories and a great source of vitamin C. They can help with weight loss and are a great source of potassium, fiber, and antioxidants. Oh and they are tasty too.
Garcia encouraged listeners to visit happyandnourished.com for apple recipes.
Don't forget that last week Brenda joined us to talk about mixing in those Fall flavors like maple and how United Supermarkets is helping bring families back together at the dinner table with quick and easy meal solutions.
