Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Superintendent of the Lubbock Independent School District Dr. Kathy Rollo and the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education Jill Berset joined Dave and Matt to talk about their efforts in making sure that students are college and career ready and the open house that will be taking place at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center tonight.

Dr. Kathy Rollo and Jill Berset started the discussion by talking about their efforts to make sure students are college ready, and especially career ready. They explained that the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center continues to be a great place for students to take courses and learn about a variety of careers, including law enforcement, automotive, architecture, graphic design, interior design, audio/video production, and more. They've also recently hired a master plumber and master electrician.

Tonight, November 5th, the Advanced Technology Center will have an open house. Their target audience is 8th graders and their parents, but it will be open to the community as well. This will be an opportunity for people to go to all of the different programs and visit with the teachers. The event will be at the ATC at 3201 Avenue Q, and will go from 6-7:30 P.M.
