In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested two separate individuals wanted for sex-related crimes against children.
Predator Arrest at Hidalgo Port of Entry
The first of two arrests occurred on November 24 when CBP officers at the Hidalgo Port of Entry sent 20-year-old Angel Derek Coria, a U.S. citizen, to secondary inspection.
After conducting biometric verification through fingerprints and/or facial ID, it was discovered that Coria had an outstanding warrant out of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office for sexual assault of a child.

Hidalgo Port Director Carlos Rodriguez said that arrests such as these serve as reminders for officers to keep our communities safe:
This apprehension exemplifies our dedication to the border security mission, the pursuit of justice and helps keep our streets safer as a result.
Laredo Port Sex Crime Arrest
Just two days later, officers at the Laredo Port of Entry stopped a bus carrying 76-year-old Antonio Diaz Vargas for secondary inspection.
Vargas underwent biometric verification where an outstanding warrant was discovered for aggravated sexual abuse of a minor from the Waukegan Police Department in Waukegan, Illinois.
