Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen joined The Chad Hasty Show on Thursday to discuss how the State has responded to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bonnen told KFYO that while he agreed with the Governor's actions on not shutting down the entire State of Texas and allowing cities and counties to make their own choices, he believed that if people were to listen to local governments and adhere to CDC guidelines the State could get through this quicker.

Bonnen also told KFYO that he has not heard a good argument for a special session. Bonnen currently believes that the state can get done what needs to be done without calling a special session and that "until someone can tell me how we make Texans' lives better by having one, the risk isn't better than the reward".
