In a recent commentary on KFYO, former city councilman Paul Beane said that LISD needs a new superintendent, that Karen Garza is not up to the job.  On the Wednesday edition of Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Garza responded:

“I believe that everyone’s working hard throughout the system.  I believe we’ve seen progress.  But at some point in time, if the board of trustees doesn’t like the progress that we’re making, certainly they can find another superintendent.  But I’m very committed to the success of this school system and to every student we serve, and we’re going to do what’s right.”

Garza said she has no plans to resign.
