Saturday, the Baylor Bears beat the Texas Longhorns 30-10 to win their first Big 12 Conference Championship. The conference title was the third title won by Baylor in their school history. The previous two were in 1974 & 1980, both in the Southwest Conference.

With the win, #6 Baylor improved their record to (11-1, 8-1 Big 12), their first-ever 11 win season.

By virtue of winning the Big 12 Conference, Baylor earned the Big 12's automatic BCS bowl berth and will play against the University of Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day.

Head coach Art Briles talked about playing in the Fiesta Bowl on Sunday, "Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. What a deal."

He continued, "Our deal was if it had a capital B in front of it, we were going to be very excited. We're extremely excited to be in a BCS bowl game -- the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl -- for a variety of reasons. First of all, it's great honor to represent the Big 12. It's a great honor to represent this university in a postseason game. It lets the nation view Baylor some more. To go to a great state like Arizona and a great city like Phoenix and play in a great stadium like we're going to play in is a big treat for our players and our university. We're extremely honored and thrilled to make this journey and make it a worthwhile cause on and off the field for Baylor University."
