Armed Man Allegedly Threatens to Shoot Lubbock Hotel Employee
A Lubbock man was arrested Friday, October 22nd after it's said that he threatened a hotel employee and wouldn't cooperate with police.
The man, Levi Chance Redding, was said to have been swearing at an employee at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Lubbock, located at 4435 Marsha Sharp Freeway. Redding allegedly threatened the employee while claiming he was carrying a gun.
An officer responded a bit before noon to the scene and noted that Redding was being uncooperative and verbally aggressive. The whole dispute allegedly began when the employee noticed Redding parked extremely close to their own vehicle, but Redding threatened to shoot the employee if they didn't back up.
The officer says that Redding told him to stay back and that he was legally carrying a firearm on his hip.
Once a backup officer arrived at the scene, they attempted to detain Redding, but KAMC News reports that he resisted arrest, at one point pulling his arms away and digging through his pockets for pepper spray. One of the responding officers did locate the aforementioned handgun on Redding's back hip.
Redding was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
