Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing Apple Truck in Lubbock County
A driver in South Lubbock County flipped his semi-truck Thursday afternoon (March 2), spilling dozens of boxes of apples across the road.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 26-year-old Joshua Mitchell crashed his truck while driving on FM 41 near East County Road 7800. The truck flipped on its side during the crash, trapping Mitchell inside the cab.
Surprisingly, Mitchell wasn't seriously injured in the crash. He was, however, intoxicated.
Mitchell was arrested at the scene and charged with a DWI. According to his booking record at the Lubbock County Detention Center, he was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon -- a misdemeanor.
Mitchell's bond has been set for $3,500 total -- $1,000 for the Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon charge, and $2,500 for the Driving While Intoxicated charge.
