Registration begins at 8:00am, activities start at 9am and the walk begins at 9:30am. Entertainment at the event will include an appearance by Texas Tech's Raider Red and the Masked Rider, as well as Bo Garza Entertainment, face painting, jump rope, and hula hoops. There will also be multiple health and wellness vendors on site.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death for Americans. The American Heart Association is dedicated to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke, and they have given back $1.2 million in cardiovascular disease/stroke research grants to Lubbock over the last five years. This year’s goal is $110,000 and they are currently at $81,256 (as of Tuesday, Oct. 13th).

Awards will be given out for those raising  or donating money. Rezonia McClellen said during the interview,

Anyone who raises 100 dollars or even pays 100 dollars the day of the walk, they can get a free t-shirt.
