Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

He Committed More Child Sex Crimes After Release
In 2025, Operation Relentless Justice—a coordinated effort from law enforcement to identify and arrest child sex predators—flagged Ranaglia-Nelson for his actions.
The 25-year-old used the social messaging app Snapchat to speak with and entice a 13-year-old into producing several sexually explicit videos.
U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said that this case can be used as a warning to anyone seeking to prey on young children:
Despite previously being convicted of sexually extorting minors, the defendant preyed on young kids to coax them into producing and sending him child pornography. . . The Judge sent an unshakable message to the community: if you prey on North Texas kids, you will go to federal prison for a very long time.
Ranaglia-Nelson was indicted in December 2025 and pleaded guilty in January 2026 to Production of Child Pornography. In May, he received a federal prison sentence of 600 months (50 years). His punishment was elevated due to his prior offenses of sexual extortion and exploitation back in 2020.
