For the first time since Super Bowl II, fans won't be able to see cheerleaders on the sidelines of the big game. No, it's not because the NFL came under pressure to ban cheerleading, but instead we can blame both the Steelers and the Packers.

According to the USA Today, neither team has cheerleaders. The Packers use cheerleaders from surrounding colleges but only for home games. The Steelers haven't had a squad since the 1970's.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have performed at events this week, but they will not be allowed to perform on Sunday at the Super Bowl. It's a shame too. I think for a true Cowboys Stadium experience, fans should be able to experience the Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Six teams total in the NFL don't use cheerleaders and that includes the Steelers and Packers. I guess fans will just have to enjoy the game.
