53rd Annual Knights of Columbus Texas Tech Football Kickoff Night to be Held Saturday

The Knights of Columbus 53rd annual Texas Tech Football Kickoff Night is being held this Saturday, August 25. The event will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located 1/2 mile east of Slide Road on FM 1585.

This year's headliner is former Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Charles Haley.

Haley has the distinction of being the only player in NFL history to have been on five Super Bowl-winning teams. Playing for the San Francisco 49ers from 1986–1991, he won a ring from Super Bowl XXIII and XXIV following the 1988 and 1989 seasons, respectively. Haley was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in the 1992 off-season, with whom he won three more Super Bowl rings over the next four seasons in 1992 (Super Bowl XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII), and 1995 (XXX).

Appearances will also be made by Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville and former Texas Tech All-American, Thomas Howard, Sr.

Tickets purchased before Saturday can be bought for $30. Locations selling tickets in advance are: Golf USA- 67th & Indiana, Brother John's Book Store- 13th & Slide, Hair Today- City Bank Building on the Marsha Sharp Freeway, Heroes & Legacies- 82nd & Quaker and Ollie's Liquor- 34th & Indiana.
