One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Saturday, Jan. 4, in south Lubbock.

Local police, EMS, firefighters, and Texas DPS troopers all responded to the accident at about 12:10 p.m. under the U.S. 87 overpass at FM 1585 near Woodrow Road.

Texas DPS reports that a pickup truck experienced a brake failure that caused it to collide with an SUV. The driver and passenger of the pickup were uninjured, but the passenger was arrested at the scene for outstanding warrants.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were both taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
