Xcel Energy Customers Can Participate in Facebook Contest

Xcel Energy customers could win some free electricity through a promotion on a popular social media site.

Xcel Energy customers in Texas and New Mexico could win the grand prize of a $1,000 check, which the company says is roughly a year’s worth of electricity for the average customer.

Seven runners-up will win a check for $100.

The group says the contest is being orchestrated to inform customers about programs and services offered by Xcel Energy, including renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, as well as grants, service, and economic developments.

Each week, Xcel will feature three new trivia questions on their page at www.facebook.com/xcelenergy. Customers can enter once a week until September 3^rd.
