Steve Maxner, director of the Vietnam Center and Archive at Texas Tech University and member of the Veterans Advisory Committee for the city of Lubbock, joined Lubbock's First News about an event the committee is hosting honoring veterans.

This week, the advisory committee will host the "West Texas Salute to Veterans" - an event that lets the committee, as well as the city of Lubbock, show their appreciation for veterans and their families, plus provide the necessary assistance for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The "West Texas Salute to Veterans" will be held this Saturday (June 13), from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fiesta Plaza, located on Cesar Chavez Drive off of North University. There will be food, music, activities and entertainment for the whole family.

"Here's a big thank you for all you've done for us," says Maxner of the event.
