URGENT! Poll Workers Needed For Lubbock County Elections
If you have ever wanted to get more involved in the elections process and see how everything works, or if you just want to help with this year's elections, your help is needed.
Lubbock County Elections Administrator Roxzine Stinson is asking for citizens in Lubbock to become poll workers so that way Lubbock County can have at least 49 fully staffed polling locations. According to EverythingLubbock.com, poll workers are needed for the upcoming primary election and for the local elections coming up as well.
“We need more poll workers,” Stinson said “It’s getting harder to find poll workers and we really do need them. We need several for the primaries. We’re going to need them for the cities and schools.”
Poll workers greet voters as they arrive at polling locations as well as qualifying and checking in voters, assisting voters with the voting process, and managing or assisting with the opening and closing of the polling location.
To be qualified, you must be 18 years old or older and a registered voter in Lubbock County. You should also be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds and be familiar with computers.
