Upcoming Memorial Service For Families of Veteran Suicide

Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin songwriter Russ Murphy and veteran Benny Guerrero joined Dave and Matt to talk about an upcoming memorial service for veterans and their families.

The memorial service will take place Sunday, May 20th at 10:20 PM at the Lubbock War Memorial on 82nd and Memphis. It will be a candlelight service honoring and helping the families of veterans who have committed suicide.

Russ Murphy explained that the date of the memorial comes from the 20 veterans who take their lives a day. Murphy went on to say,

"If we can cause somebody to stop, just for a half second, and really rethink this, that will be wonderful."

Everyone is welcome to the event especially the families of veterans who have taken their own lives.
