United Supermarkets Offer Pies to Benefit Meals on Wheels [Audio]

Monday on Lubbock's First News, Lisa Gilliland, Assistant Director of Meals on Wheels, spoke with Tom and Laura about the 22nd annual "It's as Easy as Pie" event.

Each year, United Supermarkets offer pies in exchange for $5 donations at store locations. From November 16-23, when a donation is made, United will offer a coupon for a free Sara Lee pie. These can be redeemed through December 31.Gilliland observed that participating "is truly as easy as pie!" Funds raised will benefit Meals on Wheels, an organization that delivers meals to those who are home-bound. This year's goal is to raise $50,000. Donations can be made at a United Supermarket location, through check-out or an in-store Meals on Wheels representative, by visiting the Meals on Wheels office at 2304 34th, or by calling 806-792-7971.
