United Market Street to Host “Healthy New You” Expo

If you’re one of the many people who have made a new year’s resolution to eat healthier, an area supermarket is available to help.

United Market Street will hold its annual “Healthy New You” Expo on January 5^th and 6^th at all Market Street locations in West Texas and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

The expo will run from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Guests will receive healthy recipe ideas that are also easy to prepare, samples of fresh produce and packaged food, and health screenings from Market Street pharmacists.

Shoppers will also have the opportunity to learn about the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System, and how to select nutritious food from the store’s shelves. NuVal scores food and beverages based on nutritional value from 1 to 100, and the higher the score, the higher the food’s overall nutrition.

“We care about our guests and want to provide them with latest health and wellness information they need to make their choices healthier and easier,” said Alicia Brown, health and wellness marketing manager for Market Street.

“This year’s Healthy New You Expo is the best time to learn more about NuVal and change the way you shop for food,” she continued.

Complimentary coupons, recipe cards, and nutritional information will be offered as well, and Market Street pharmacists will provide blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol screenings at no charge.
