You find a lot of things when you know where to look. That's how I stumbled across the cases for three unidentified persons found deceased in Lubbock, Texas.

The following case summaries for Lubbock County were retrieved from NamUs, a federal organization that provides technology, forensic services, and investigative support to resolve missing person and unidentified remains cases.

Unidentified Person #1 - July 27, 2021

This unidentified person is listed as located deceased inside a residence on July 27, 2021. The NAMUS entry was created on March 13, 2023.

The case summary is sparse and provides few details, save for a possible first and last name: Jimmy Odom. The remains are described as "Not recognizable - Mummified".

If you have information regarding #UP101309, contact Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office at (806) 687-9434 and reference case #FAL21-0374.

Unidentified Person #2 - March 15, 2021

Below is an artist's rendering of the individual, who is listed as #UP79866 in NamUS

This unidentified person is listed as located on March 15, 2021 next to a lake. The remains are described as partially skeletonized upon discovery. The case summary contains notes on the state of the body as being unrecognizable due to animal activity and at least one hand not recovered.

The decedent is thought to be Hispanic/Latino and was found wearing these items of clothing:

  • Wrangler brand size small blue and white plaid long sleeve shirt
  • Levi brand black jeans size 30/30
  • Red belt with double row of decorative grommets
  • Black Beverley Hills Polo Club brand boxer underwear
  • Black size 9 AND1 brand sneakers with Velcro closure.

If you have information regarding #UP79866, contact Lubbock Police Department at (806) 775-2816 and reference case #21-9961.

Unidentified Person #3 - May 21, 2016

This unidentified person case is a little different from the previous two. In this case summary, the decedent, or #UP15381, is listed as found in Clapp Park in Lubbock, Texas on May 21, 2016.

The state of the remains are listed as only partial skeletal parts with no indication of hair or eye color. But--and this is where it gets strange--according to the case summary, the "left tibia of the remains is associated with Jon Robert Price".

There is a photo associated with the case entry that is a mugshot from Lubbock County Detention Center. Further, there is a cross-indexed Missing Persons case on NamUS for Jon Roberts Price, who was last seen on May 15, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas.

There is a denotation of 'UNCERTAIN' on the case summary, so it can be assumed that despite the match with the left tibia to Jon Robert Price there are complicating factors that prevent a full identification of the remains.
