Leppert said that Texas needs someone with real business experience in the Senate, and that is what sets him apart from his competitors.
“We’ve sent career politicians…who don’t have any business background to Washington for too long, and it’s given us a fiscal mess and an economy that’s simply not growing. I think I bring a perspective of not being a career politician, but having somebody that actually understands business.”
Leppert also talked about his stance on gay marriage. He said that marriage should be between a man and a woman only, and that it should be a faith and a federal issue. Leppert also addressed a listener’s E-mail concerning the construction of a hotel near the convention center during his time as mayor of Dallas.
