An intersection in southwest Lubbock County will soon be a four-way stop.

TxDOT will convert the intersection of Slide Road (Farm-to-Market 1730) and Woodrow Road to a four-way stop from a two-way stop condition.

Road crews will begin installing the 48” flashing stop signs on Monday. Pavement markings and advance stop-ahead signs will be added to the intersections, to ensure that motorists are aware of the new stops.

State officials made the recommendation to change the intersection to a four-way stop due to sight restrictions on the approaches to the intersection, as well as the high volume of traffic on both roadways.

Message boards notifying the public of the changes are now in place.
