Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week, an article on self driving cars, a Lamborghini bicycle, as well as other auto industry news.

This week The Car Pro was test driving the 2020 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring plug-in hybrid, which Reynolds says is a beautiful luxury seven passenger SUV. Jerry explained that the variation on this model was under the hood, because it has a hybrid system. The hybrid system runs along with a 3.5 liter v6 engine with 2 turbos. Then, when you add the 13.6 kilowatt lithium ion battery, the car, "becomes a real hotrot." The car goes from 400 horses with the normal Aviator, to almost 500 horses. Additionally, the torque that gets added in with the battery is over 630 lb ft, which Jerry says is incredible. Reynolds went on to say,

The performance of this thing is just astounding. I mean, it's the first hybrid that I've ever driven that its purpose wasn't really a hybrid to get you better fuel economy. The purpose of the system is to give you performance, and I've never seen that in a vehicle before.

The Car Pro went on to say that the car has a very nice exterior, and a stunning interior. The car also has the most comfortable seats that Jerry has ever sat in, with 30 different adjustments you can make. Jerry said that if you can't get comfortable in these seats, then you just can't get comfortable. The tradeoff of all the nice features is the price, with the window sticker sitting at $83,000. Jerry explained that the hybrid adds $5,000, but said, "if you've got a heavy foot, and you like to get up and go when you want to, that 5 grand is well spent."
