@karsonland1, Twitter

Tuesday on Lubbock’s First News, Kirby Hocutt, Athletics Director of Texas Tech University, discussed signing day events taking place Wednesday February 5.

Texas Tech.TV will host a three hour segment covering signing activities. The free live stream will begin at 8 a.m. and will include signing activities and interviews with coaches as names are announced. From 11:00 to 11:30 the show will be shown on Fox Sports Southwest to recap the morning events. Robert Giovannetti, Courtney Davis and Brandon Rawe will host the show. More information on the show can be found here.

There is an NCAA rule that forbids staff to speak about players until a signature of intent has been given. However, Hocutt spoke about the advantages of bringing on Kliff Kingsbury, as well as Darren Chiaverini, particularly in showing an exciting side of the campus and program to prospective students. Hocutt noted that, “The young people out there that have taken the opportunity to look at Texas Tech see the excitement and the promising future that we have in front of us.”
