A Texas Tech professor will be honored at a symposium this week.

Texas Tech’s College of Architecture will celebrate the work of Professor John White through its Cultural Heritage Research symposium this Friday.

The private evening event, titled “John P. White, Dean of Historic American Building Survey” will focus specifically on White and his work.

Professor Elizabeth Louden says that White’s contributions to the College of Architecture, Texas Tech, and the U.S. citizenry as a whole are immeasurable.

“The remarkable thing about Professor John white is his consistency and persistence in recording the history of the U.S. for posterity. He spent his career mentoring students and teaching them the value of history built by architecture and fostering respect for the history of architecture,” Louden said.

The Cultural Heritage Research Symposium will be held Friday, September 30th from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the College of Architecture gallery. The event is open to the public.
