After days of speculation, Senator Ted Cruz announced on Facebook that he would be voting for Donald Trump. The announcement comes months after Cruz refused to endorse Donald Trump at the Republican Convention. The announcement also comes just days after Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick said on a national radio show that he had been having conversations with Cruz in an attempt to sway Cruz to Trump's side.

In his Facebook post, Cruz said there were six policy areas that would need to be addressed for him to support Trump and that today Trump had provided him with better specifics on those issues. The six areas of concern for Cruz included the Supreme Court, Obamacare, Energy, Immigration, National Security, and Internet Freedom.
