"The Science Spectrum turns into a zoo for 4 days. Obviously there's no zoo in Lubbock, and so people get really excited about all these animals coming to town," Nesmith said.
The Nature’s Core Expo will educate families about the environment and how to take care of it. The free expo will be held Thursday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"They put this event on every year and they invite lots of different community partners to come out and talk about severe weather preparedness, disaster preparedness, and obviously to talk about weather science," Nesmith said.
"We're going to have dentists from around Lubbock and the surrounding area that will greet the children and the parents and talk to them about their oral health and some of the habits that they need to be doing daily and the care they can do to take care of their teeth," Dr. Street said.
The amazing bubble maker Blaise Ryndes is the featured performer at the Science Spectrum's BubbleFest 2018. He stopped by the Lonestar 99.5 studio to chat.
"For no more than a normal day visiting the Science Spectrum, as far as price goes, you can come and do the BubbleFest activities on top of that," Nesmith said.
Condra explained that they will have several important and fun activities, not the least of which is the free dyslexia screening. The screening is free for all children in kindergarten through third grade.
