Frenship High School ranks as the highest rated high school on the South Plains, in the top 10 percent of high schools in Texas, and in the top 11 percent of more than 21,000 high schools nationwide.
Frenship ISD said that no firearms were brought onto the campus by Owens, and the students were not in any danger.

The Backpacks for Food Program is aimed at providing backpacks that are filled with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food for students and families during spring break.

Jeremy Wagner has been selected with two other secondary educators and three elementary teachers out of the 40 regional Teachers of the Year from each of the state’s 20 education service center areas.
The Texas Education Agency says that 56 percent of all schools in the state failed to meet the AYP standards. Overall, Lubbock ISD, Frenship ISD, and Lubbock-Cooper ISD failed to meet the standards.
