Suspected Intruder Shot During Home Invasion

One person was shot during a home invasion early Monday morning.

The male suspect reportedly forced his way into a home in the 7400 block of King Avenue around 4:18 a.m. Monday.

The homeowner repeatedly told the suspect to leave the residence, and when the suspect refused, the homeowner shot him once in the torso.

The suspect was taken to University Medical Center, where he remains for treatment.

Lubbock police have not released the identity of the suspect, and say that charges will likely be filed against the suspect after he is released from the hospital.
