Suspect in Hit and Run Assaulted Witness During Getaway

An Austin man involved in a hit and run assaulted witnesses during his getaway.

20-year-old Christian Gonzalea-Martinez was intoxicated when he struck a sedan Friday.

The driver of the sedan was killed and her passenger was injured.

A witness followed Christian after the crash and was punched when trying to detain him.

After assaulting the witness Christian entered a silver vehicle and fled.

Christian is currently being held in Travis County Jail on $2.1 million bail.

His charges include manslaughter, intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, two counts of failure to stop and render aid, and aggravated assault. No attorney was listed on his jail records.
