On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.

This week, Lubbock High will be taking on San Angelo Central. Lubbock High lost their game with Hereford last week, and even if they win tomorrow night's game, Orr predicts that Lubbock High won't be returning to the playoffs this year. Another local match-up will be tonight's Estacado vs. Seminole game. Orr said that Seminole is a very young team, and predicts that Estacado should not have too much trouble with them.

Orr also shared his thoughts on last week's game in Aledo, Texas, where the father of a football player accused the opposing team's coach of bullying by beating his team 91 to 0. Orr said that the Aledo team is doing exceptionally well, and this isn't the first time this season that they have scored so much against an opposing team. But, he agreed that the claims of bullying were ridiculous, pointing out that Aledo had all of their substitutes out on the field and were just running the ball.

For Week 8, Orr selected Lubbock Cooper vs. Levelland as his game of the week. Orr explained that Cooper has been a strong team all season long, and next week will be their biggest challenge yet when they take on the undefeated Shallowater team. However, he added that Levelland is a tough team in their own right, and should prove to be a good "litmus test" for Cooper to see if they're ready to take on Shallowater.

If you can’t make it out to the games, you can catch the Lubbock Cooper vs. Levelland game Friday night on 98 KOOL FM.
