Fort Lauderdale, FL based Spirit Airlines announced Monday six new routes to be flown out Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The destinations include non-stop flights to New Orleans, Minneapolis, Fort Myers (FL), Philadelphia, and Latrobe Regional Airport outside of Pittsburgh, PA.

Spirit also filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation to have non-stop service to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo in Mexico and will await approval for the new international routes.

The low cost carrier introduced service to DFW Airport in May of 2011 and expanded service ever since to service one of the largest cities in Texas and the United States.

The total number of destinations that Spirit flies out of Dallas now number 26.
