The South Plains Food Bank is holding their first round-the-clock food drive this week.

The group’s very first 24-hour food drive will be held beginning 7 a.m. Thursday, August 16th, and will run through 7 a.m. Friday at the 24-hour United Market Street, located at 50th Street and Indiana Avenue.

Activities and give away drawings will be held throughout the food drives, and will have hour winners.

The first 24 people that make a cash donation upon check out at the store, or donate 3 nonperishable food items will receive breakfast provided by United.

“We are excited to have United gift cards to give away each hour, plus other great gifts from the Overton Hotel, Keva Juice, Chrome, Red Raider Outfitter, and PlainsCapital Bank to be given away at different times throughout the food drive,” said David Weaver, SPFB executive officer.

Whataburger will also provide a drop-off location at their newest store at 9th Street and University Avenue. Those that donate 3 nonperishable food items at that location will receive a coupon good for a free taquito.
