The line of severe thunderstorms that prompted a 14-county simultaneous Severe Thunderstorm Warning late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning became a heavy rain event for Lubbock.

The power of the storm dissipated around 1am as the bulk of the storm was still over Lamb, Hale and Floyd counties and moving South.

High wind gusts from this severe weather event included: 65 mph in Dimmitt, 61 mph Friona, 76 mph in Hereford, 69 mph in Olton, 63 mph in Tulia, 55 mph in Levelland, 58 mph in Floydada and 41 mph in Lubbock (totals from TTU Mesonet). Rain totals from across the area included over 1.5" in Idalou, over 0.35" at the KFYO Studios and over 0.71" in Ralls.
