Senator Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell and Others Return From Afghanistan and Israel

A U.S. Senator from Texas has just returned from a trip to Afghanistan and Israel.

Senator Ted Cruz announced Monday that he and four other Republican Senators just completed the visit.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and Senators John Barrasso, Jeff Flake, and Deb Fischer went, and met with U.S. military personnel, military officials, and political leaders.

A press release says that the Senators discussed political, economic, and security issues affecting bilateral and regional relations.

The group also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Major General Larry Nicholson, and General John Allen, Commander of the International Security Assistance Force.
