Senator John Cornyn says Taiwan must have the tools to defend itself against potential Chinese aggression.   Cornyn says there is overwhelming congressional support for the sale of F-16s to  Taiwan, an ally of the U.S.

Cornyn responded to a Communist Party newspaper that said the U.S. would pay a disastrous price if it continued to support Taiwan.

“I suggest that the United States should not give in to this intimidation and threats, and that we should instead pass this legislation to send a clear message to China,” Cornyn said.

The Obama Administration, according to Cornyn,  has failed to live up to its obligation under the Taiwan Relations Act.
