A Seminole man is dead after his store caught fire early this morning.

68-year-old Ernest Singleton owned and lived at Goldie’s Antiques in downtown Seminole, which caught fire around 3:30 a.m. this morning, according to the Seminole Sentinel.

Singleton died at Memorial Hospital in Seminole of smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

The building, located in the Gaines County Courthouse Square was gutted by the blaze.
