Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. Saturday in South Carolina (link)

Governor Rick Perry will make his intentions clear on Saturday in South Carolina. What are his intentions? Well, this might shock you but he's running for President. According to Politico;

According to two sources familiar with the plan, the Texas governor will remove any doubt about his White House intentions during his appearance at a RedState conference in Charleston.

It's uncertain whether Saturday will mark a formal declaration, but Perry's decision to disclose his intentions the same day as the Ames straw poll — and then hours later make his first trip to New Hampshire — will send shock waves through the race and upend whatever results come out of the straw poll.

When Perry does make his intentions clear, you can toss out all of the polls. It's a new game. Can he win the election? What do you think?

2. Obama speaks, Stocks crash (link)

The markets were down, and then the President spoke. That's when the Dow took a nosedive, and it wasn't pretty. The Dow closed down more than 600 points and below 11,000. Ouch. The Dow really started the free fall while Obama was talking. Haven't we seen that before?

3. Did LBJ have JFK killed? (link)

Apparently, Jackie O thought that LBJ and a gang of Texans had her husband killed.

Jackie Onassis believed that Lyndon B Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons were involved in the assassination of her husband John F Kennedy, ‘explosive’ recordings are set to reveal.

The secret tapes will show that the former first lady felt that her husband’s successor was at the heart of the plot to murder him.

She became convinced that the then vice president, along with businessmen in the South, had orchestrated the Dallas shooting, with gunman Lee Harvey Oswald – long claimed to have been a lone assassin – merely part of a much larger conspiracy.

Texas-born Mr Johnson, who served as the state’s governor and senator, completed Mr Kennedy’s term and went on to be elected president in his own right.

Hmm.
